Core Responsibilities/Attributes : Perform microbiological testing, including bioburdan, endotoxin and particulate testing of Raw Materials, Utilities, Environmental Monitoring and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs). The microbiology analyst is also responsible for micro organism identification testing. Testing is performed with adherence to standard operating procedures, guidelines and cGMPs. Support new product introductions, working with the Analytical Microbiologist to validate microbiological methodologies. This includes method development and verification in accordance with pharmacopeia requirements. Be familiar with and become expert in microbiological techniques and instrumentation, such as micro plate readers, colony identification equipment, micro pipettes, autoclaves, microscopes etc. Provide technical training to new laboratory analysts, through knowledge in a wide variety of assay methods, instrumentation and laboratory quality systems. Required Qualifications & Experience : A Diploma in Microbiology is the minimum requirement for this role; however a BSc or MSc in Microbiology or a related discipline (bio analytical sciences, biotechnology) would be advantageous. Minimum 3-5 years experience in a similar role in a regulated cGMP environment, preferably in a biotechnology facility with new facility/product introduction experience.
