The Committees consist of employee members drawn from management and non-management personnel, representing a variety of diverse functional areas on each site.
My Lilly contact told me that my grant would be approved but the request was still denied. Can you explain why?
No individual representative of Lilly can approve a grant. Please do not consider any grant request approved until you have received final written confirmation from the Chair of the Committee in question.
Where can I return unused funds?
Cheques should be made payable to Eli Lilly Kinsale Limited or Eli Lilly Cork Limited (Little Island) and returned to Chair of the Committee in question at the address provided above.
Can I submit an application for an event or activity that has already happened?
No, unfortunately we cannot support requests for funding after the activity or event has taken place.
Why do I need to sign the declaration about the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA)?
As Irish subsidiaries of an American company we have to comply with relevant US Law, including that governing non-US activities involving government bodies and employees. As a requestor you will be asked questions relating to funding and its accounting destination. This is to ensure that Lilly funding is not associated with the prescription of our medicines or used to influence a government official and is accurately recorded in our books of account.
Do I have to declare Lilly sponsorship?
If Lilly makes a donation to a Healthcare Professional or Healthcare Organisation, it is a requirement of our industry’s Code of Practice and self-governance to make that information available to the public. We are committed to ensuring that all funding associated with the pharmaceutical industry is open and transparent.
Can I appeal the decision of the grants committee?
The Lilly Grants and Donations Committee decision is final. However, you may submit a different application in the future.
